Getting Around

Transport in Mallorca

Lucas, at Mallorca Concierge, arranges getting around the island as two services: a private chauffeur for airport transfers and days with a driver, and luxury car rental delivered to your villa or the airport for the self-drive days. From the Palma airport (PMI) pickup to the last dinner before you fly home, the logistics are handled so you never have to think about them. That includes yacht transfers, meeting your flight and driving straight to the marina at Puerto Portals, Port d’Andratx or Palma’s Moll Vell, timed to your skipper.

Chauffeur and car rental in Mallorca

Two separate services, both arranged personally. A private chauffeur means a driver and vehicle at your disposal, for airport runs, yacht transfers to the marina, evenings out, groups, or a full day with someone at the wheel. Car rental is the self-drive side, kept to prestige and sports cars, convertibles and luxury SUVs, delivered to your villa or the airport. Many guests use both across a stay.

Getting around the island

A few things worth knowing before you arrive.

From Palma airport (PMI)

Roughly 25 minutes to Son Vida and Portals, 35 to Port d’Andratx, 40 to Deià, 50 to Pollença

Delivered to you

A car dropped at your villa or the airport, a driver at arrivals, no desk and no queue

Driving in Palma

The old town is a restricted-traffic zone; use the ring-road car parks, or let a driver handle it

Mountain roads

The Tramuntana routes to Sa Calobra, Sóller and Valldemossa are narrow and slow, worth a confident driver or a chauffeur

Yacht transfers

Airport to the marina at Puerto Portals, Port d’Andratx or Palma’s Moll Vell, luggage handled and timed to your skipper

Common questions

Do I need a car in Mallorca?

It depends on where you are staying and what you want to do. Around Palma, Portals and Bendinat, distances are short. For a villa in the Tramuntana or the quiet southeast, or for spontaneous day trips across the island, a car makes it easier. Both self-drive and a private chauffeur are available, and most guests use a mix.

How do most guests combine the two?

A driver meets your flight and handles the first evening while you settle in; the rental car is delivered to the villa a day or two later for the self-drive days. It is the most common setup.

Do you deliver the rental car to the villa?

Yes. The car is delivered to your villa or waiting at the airport, keys in hand, with insurance and paperwork done in advance. Collection works the same way at the end of the stay.

Can I switch between a driver and a car during the stay?

Yes. Tell me what each day looks like and I arrange the right mix, day by day if needed.

What about parking in Palma?

The old town is a restricted-traffic zone. For self-drive, use the car parks on the ring road and walk in; with a driver it is not something you deal with at all.

Do you handle yacht transfers?

Yes. A driver meets your flight and takes you straight to the marina at Puerto Portals, Port d’Andratx or Palma’s Moll Vell, with the luggage handled and the timing set to your skipper. The return to the airport works the same way.

Ready to arrange your transfers?

Tell me your dates and I will have a driver waiting.
